Do you want some new nail polish? Picking a color that’s right for you can be difficult. While there are so many colors available, not all will look great on your nails. One color can look wonderful on one person, but not suit the next. So, here’s some advice to help you choose the right color for you:
.) You must take your skin tone into consideration. If you have light skin, look for light or medium polish colors. For dark skin tones, darker colors are preferred. As an example, it you’re looking for red nail polish, choose a lighter shade for lighter skin and for darker skin, go for the darker shades of red.
.) Many nail stores will also allow you to sample colors before you buy. Just take a piece of paper along with you — maybe even a napkin — and brush samples of nail polish colors on it. Then you simply place your finger along side each sample. This lets you see which color will be right for you.
.) Polish comes in many different varieties. Two of the most common finishes are glitter and matte. These are great basics, especially for those just starting to wear nail polish. For a special evening out at your favorite club or a night out with the girls, glitter and other patterns are also available.
.) That said, if you are going to work and have an important business meeting, simple colors might be more appropriate. Flashy patterns and colors will bring unwanted attention to your hands. So, unless your in the business of hand modeling, you probably want to steer clear of bold and wild colors.
.) Price also matters when purchasing nail polish. The nail polishes that are more expensive are usually organic. This means they will not harm your nails or body. Cheaper brands often include many harsh chemicals that are not only harmful to you, but to the environment as well.
.) If you’re unsure about a color, as for an opinion from a seasoned salon employee. They can often lead you to a nail polish that is a good match. Also, don’t be afraid to experiment. You may be surprised at what you find when you try something new.
